Kambo  can help clear what no longer serves us, physically, emotionally and spiritually. 

Kambo is a secretion that comes from the giant tree frog ‘Phyllomedusa Bicolour’, found in abundance throughout the upper Amazonian rainforest. The tribes of the Amazon traditionally have deep respect for the frogs, which are never harmed when the secretion is harvested. The frogs are considered to be teachers, healers and the bringers of sacred medicine…kambo.

Traditionally used to clear panema (bad luck), to energise hunters and to gain strength, immunity and the cure illnesses, kambo is now being brought to other parts of the world with the blessing of its original tribal users.

Outside of the forest, three decades of medical research is continually finding out more about the physical benefits of kambo in the body. The secretion contains peptides, short chains of amino acids, which have known anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial and anaesthetic properties. It works as a powerful cleanser, aiding in liver and intestinal detox. This deep level of cleansing is deeply healing for body, mind and spirit, making kambo a very effective treatment for physical and emotional disorders. 

Kambo will work with you on a deeper energetic level than your thinking mind will be aware of. If you are facing blocks, issues that you can't resolve, behavioural patterns that you can't shift...kambo will intuitively go the place it's needed most. The wisdom and healing nature of this frog is unbound. 

Short term effects can include improved mood, energy levels, alertness, clarity, resistance to stress and a calm and clear mind. People often experience a stillness and lightness of mind and spirit after sitting with kambo. 

In the longer term kambo can strengthen the immune system, enhancing the body’s natural defence mechanisms against existing health problems and providing greater resistance to potential future issues. Kambo can also be an enabler in breaking negative habits, allowing greater flow and more natural living in mind and spirit.

Spiritually, kambo has an intelligence of its own. Countless experiences of this powerful medicine have shown that it brings exactly what is needed on the day, with the potential to clear blockages and assist with overcoming long term obstacles, which can become stored in our cells as stress and trauma. If working with emotional and spiritual issues, it is recommended to bring a specific intention to a kambo session, to help with focus. It is also possible to work with chakras and meridians, powerful energy centres and lines in the body, intensifying the effectiveness of treatment and targeting specific issues and intentions. 

It is common for some of these processes to start even in the lead up to the treatment. Some people find that resistance can arise and its very normal to feel fear going in to the treatment, especially if you are tackling deep seated issues. There will be plenty of time on the day to talk about all of this and make sure you are ready to receive kambo in a way that will best support you. 

Small points are burned onto the top layer of skin, exposing the epidermis, where the kambo is applied. The number of points will be determined at your session. Once applied, the kambo travels through the lymphatic system, scanning your body for problems. Its effects are strong and fast, lasting usually between 20 and 40 minutes. Responses such as increased heart rate, flushing, skin tingling and light-headedness are all common and completely normal as the peptides begin to work in your body. Purging will eventually come, providing a physical and emotional release. Rest and nutritious food are very important after your session and you will begin to really feel the benefits usually after a good nights sleep. 

You will be required to fast from midnight the night before your treatment and to cease drinking water from early morning. There are also advised dietary and lifestyle considerations in the lead up to your treatment, which I will send you after booking, together with a list of things to bring with you. 

Contraindications - there are certain conditions that mean some people may not be able to receive kambo. If you contact me to book, I will send you a health questionnaire to establish your suitability for kambo. Your safety is of upmost importance in any treatment.
